GIANTS TRAILS - WALPOLE-NORNALUP NATIONAL PARK

This was a build that captured the imagination of Magic Dirt. Over 60km of adventure in pristine national park in the Great Southern on the South Coast of Western Australia. This is wilderness. This is adventure.

Part Munda Biddi Realignment, part brand new trail network, these trails are built by mountain bikers for mountain bikers. Magic Dirt played an important role in ensuring that these trails are fun and engaging by insisting that several trails were constructed as single direction only. Trails that run predominantly downhill single direction allow the designers to chose alignments that maximise the fun.

There are many routes to choose starting from short dual direction, dual use options - to 30-60km loops for the not-so-fainthearted (and the ebikers 😜)

Munda Biddi Realignment

Magic Dirt was contracted to create a 4km cycle specific section of the Munda Biddi realignment in the Valley of the Giants region. It was the first such construction in the wildnerness area.

This is a flowy dual direction trail through some of the most pristine forest in the area. Passing through giant, ancient Tingle trees and lush forest it is an unforgettable experience.

The end result was an extremely neat footprint and a highly engaging experience that works well in either direction. Trail users, land managers and the local indigenous group provided great feedback on the completed project.
